Manufacturing test

Microfinish valves can be manually operated by a lever/gear box or it can be automated pneumatically, electrically or hydraulically. Automated units avoid human interaction with the valve while controlling the flow. Although the valves can be remotely operated, they can also act spontaneously if a dangerous situation is detected, e.g. Emergency Shutdown Devices (ESD). The automated valve package can be designed as a fail-to-open, fail-to-close, or stand-still as per the system architecture. Automation can also be determined by quarter-turn, multi-turn, or linear operation.

High and Low Torque ActuatorsMicrofinish offers a wide range of quarter-turn pneumatic actuators with output torque up to 100.000 Nm (73756 ft-lbf). For high torque applications, we provide the Exatork™, a robust Scotch-Yoke pneumatic actuator line, mainly used in the oil and gas industry to operate large size trunnion mounted ball valves. The Teratork™, a lightweight, rack and pinion, aluminium, pneumatic actuator line, covers torque requirements up to 4000 Nm (2950 ft-lbf), mainly for the chemical industry. Microfinish also offers electric, and hydraulic actuators for a wide range of applications. All Microfinish actuators are available in Double Acting (DA), and Spring Return (SR) configurations. The actuator designs are in full compliance with all relevant international standards

Metal Seated Valves that Outperform the CompetitionThe Microfinish robust metal seated ball valve line outperforms in the harshest industrial conditions. This includes extreme high temperature up to 650°C / 1200°F, abrasive medium such as fly-ash, slurry, and pulp applications, and pressures as high as class 2500. By default, Microfinish metal seated ball valve line exceeds FCI-70-2 Class V leak rate with outstanding repeatability. Class VI leak rate is also feasible upon special request, and pending approval from the Microfinish engineering team. Various hardening techniques are available: nickel plating, chromium plating, nitriding of austenitic stainless steel, plasma thermal arc (PTA) welding of stellite, and high velocity oxygen fuel (HVOF) spray technique of tungsten carbide or chromium carbide over cobalt base layer. Each technique is sized carefully to meet the application parameters. The Microfinish metal seated ball valve line includes floating ball valves, from ½ inch (DN15) to 10 inch (DN250), and trunnion mounted ball valves, from 2 inch (DN50) and up to 48 inch (DN1200). Both types of valve are available in reduced bore and full bore, and pressure classes from ASME 150 to 2500
